Small signals. A clearer picture.
A short recap of your child's day, every evening — it takes about a minute. Over the weeks, those recaps add up, and Maple helps you see what really shapes the good days and the harder ones.

Every parent knows the question: what was that about?
A meltdown at dinner. A week of rough mornings. A child who's suddenly calmer, or quieter, or not quite themselves. In the moment, it's hard to tell whether it's sleep, school, screens, food, or something else entirely.
The answer is usually there — spread across days you don't remember in detail. A short recap each evening captures those small signals before they're forgotten, so the patterns become visible. Not to judge, and not to diagnose: to help you put your finger on what might be worth changing, and what's simply a phase.
We're parents too. We built the app we wanted: calm, quick, and honest about what the data can and can't tell you.
Was it the late night?
The screens after dinner?
A busy week at school?
Or just a hungry afternoon?
Family Recap helps you find out — for your own child.Baby trackers stop at naps. Your child's world doesn't.
Most tracking apps were built for babies: feeds, diapers and sleep. But from preschool to the early teens, a child's day is shaped by far more — and today more than ever, by screens, schedules and everything in between. Sleep still matters enormously, so it's where every log begins. It's just not the whole story.
Why it matters: a rough week can look like a bedtime problem when it was really a cold, a busy school week, or late screens. Seeing the whole day keeps you from fixing the wrong thing.
A thoughtful guide, built to be careful.
Maple is Family Recap's AI guide. Maple reads your daily recaps and describes only the patterns that are actually in them — gently, briefly, and without telling you what kind of parent to be.
On the nights Jane was in bed before 8:00, the next day was logged as “easygoing” more often. Worth keeping an eye on?
How we use AI safely
- Your child's name never leaves your accountBefore anything reaches our AI provider, the name is replaced by a placeholder. Age is shared in whole years only.
- You decide what Maple can seeSwitch off any part of the day in Settings. Growth and health need your separate permission.
- Only what your logs supportMaple sticks to the patterns in your own recaps and never invents connections. Maple isn't a doctor, though — for questions about your child's health, your pediatrician is always the best person to ask.
- Not for training, not for saleUnder our AI provider's commercial terms, your data isn't used to train their models. We never sell it or use it for ads.

Short, sourced reads on what research says — and what it doesn't.
Sleep and mood: why the night before matters
What studies show about short nights and next-day feelings, and how much sleep kids need.
Sugar and behavior: what research says, and what you can see
Why the evidence is mixed, what tends to come with sugar — and how to spot your own child's pattern.
Screens and bedtime
Dozens of studies link evening screens to later, shorter sleep. What that means at home.
Two parents, one picture.
Invite your partner, a grandparent or a caregiver with a simple code. You each add to the recap from your own phone and see the same days — so nobody has to remember everything alone.
